The Laboratory of Computational Studies on Molecular Systems (⟨e|Cs|Mo⟩Lab) was founded in 1994 under the leadership of Prof. Wagner B. Almeida, in the Department of Chemistry of the Institute of Exact Sciences of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The ⟨e|Cs|Mo⟩Lab has established itself as a reference in Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling area in the state of Minas Gerais and one of the most traditional research groups in this area in Brazil. In the year of 2014, the group completed 20 years of tradition in research, having formed until that year 17 doctors, 18 masters, 32 students of Scientific Initiation, as well as 08 fellows who completed their Postdoctoral Internships. In 2014 Prof. Wagner B. De Almeida retired from UFMG and assumed a new position at the Chemistry Institute of the Federal University Fluminense. With his retirement, Prof. Willian R. Rocha took over leadership of the group from 2015 on, becoming Professor Wagner B. De Almeida the group’s founder and honorary leader.
